"Hello?" "Hi honey."This is Daddy. Is Mommy near the phone?"
"No Daddy.She's upstairs in the bedroom with Uncle Paul."

After a brief pause,

Daddy says, "But honey, you haven't got

an Uncle Paul."

"Oh yes I do,

and he's upstairs in the room

with Mommy, right now."

Brief Pause.

"Uh, okay then,

this is what I want you to do

Put the phone

down on the table,

run upstairs

and knock on the bedroom door

and shout to Mommy

that Daddy's car

just pulled into the driveway."

"Okay Daddy

just a minute."

A few minutes later

the little girl comes back to the phone.

"I did it Daddy."

"And what happened honey?"

he asked.

"Well, Mommy got all scared

jumped out of bed

with no clothes on

and ran around screaming.

Then she tripped over the rug,

hit her head on the dresser

and now she isn't moving at all!"

"Oh my God!!!

What about your Uncle Paul?"

"He jumped out of the bed

with no clothes on, too.

He was all scared

and he jumped out of the back window

and into the swimming pool.

But I guess he didn't know

that you took out the water

last week to clean it.

He hit the bottom of the pool

and I think he's dead."

Then Daddy says,

Once upon a time lived a beautiful Queen with voluptuous breasts.

Nick the Dragon Slayer obsessed over the Queen for this reason. He knew that the penalty for his desire would be death should he try to touch them, but he had to try.

One day Nick revealed his secret desire to his colleague, Horatio the Physician, the King's chief Doctor. Horatio thought about this and said that he could arrange for Nick to more than satisfy his desire, but it would cost him 1000 gold coins to arrange it.

Without pause Nick readily agreed to the scheme. The next day, Horatio made a batch of itching powder and poured a little bit into the Queen's brassiere while she bathed. Soon after she dressed, the itching commenced and grew intense. Upon being summoned to The Royal Chambers to address this incident, Horatio informed the King And Queen that only a
special saliva, if applied for four hours, would cure this type of itch; and that tests had shown that only the saliva of Nick would work as the antidote to cure the itch.

The King quickly summoned Nick. Horatio then slipped Nick the antidote for the itching powder, which he put into his mouth; and for the next four hours, Nick worked passionately on the Queen's voluptuous and magnificent breasts. The Queen's itching was eventually relieved, and Nick left satisfied and hailed as a hero.

Upon returning to his chamber, Nick found Horatio demanding his payment Of 1,000 gold coins. With his obsession now satisfied, Nick couldn't have cared less; and, knowing that Horatio could never report this matter to the King, and with a laugh told him to get lost.

The next day, Horatio slipped a massive dose of the same itching powder into the King's underwear. The King immediately summoned Nick.

The moral of the story - Pay your bills.

On call last nite

Pretty terrible even though I was able to catch 2 hours for sleep. Not quite capable to admit cases, only the blood taking and ward complaints had killed me basically. Gotta devise some sorts of schemes to speed up my work and work out a way to prioritize things. Hope the docs and nurses will forgive for my slowness in doing all these days especially we are all so fresh and just began internship....

Preinternship block-on call last nite

This entire week was supposed to be spent soley for preinternship, yet having quite a number of supposed-to-be useful orientation programmes in Prince of Wales Hospital, kinda depriving my time spending in getting a hand-on in North District Hospital, the one I'm gonna to spend my first rotation in surgery at. Great to have the house officier, JOEY YIU (hehee) who taught EVERY survival tactics including doing all the drips, ABGs, cases admission blahblahblah, be friends wif the bossess in wards-the nursessss, hopefully i could cope well with the coming 9 clinical cases on my first on-call day. Still better start reading some books before doing the real duty.

Oh yea on the first day i met her, she brought me to the common room and played Wii with the other docs..lol..and had the McDonalds (free lunch, thanks Dr. Shirley and Dr. Tam =) )..real fun esp having all the faces of the docs in teams in the games..lol

On call last night, NDH's pretty good hospital so far, most ppl are soo willing to teach and help, not much work to do and the pager won't keep calling til u're bothered to death. Still i am quite mentally and physically exhausted after a night's work.

Rite, gotta work hard for this block, god bless me =)

spent my last day in spain shopping around, feel the vibrance of the city, strolled through the lanes and recesses.

right now i'm sitting at my work station back home, Hong Kong, planning wat to do tmr, no more day excursions, sightseeings, food hunting, but gotta prepare for my coming graduation dinner, pre-internship block, filling in all the forms I have just found piling up my desk. right here I'm back to reality, with loads of unforeseen workloads overwhelming me, gotta get ready and embrace it with joy and to get my next trip ready (hope so..kakaa)

2nd last day in barcelona

visited Parc Gruell after my sis left, oh man it was damn hot with the sun rite above the head, other than the toad, it was simply a park, a real park with hundred hecters, anyway it was a nice stroll still, could not stand the heat so I went shopping instead, had a pretty good harvest til late night. hehee

Yet I did not ruin my day today, went over Montserrat, the monastery up on the hill which is an hour ride away from barcelona, it was claimed to be one of the oldest musical school with its renowed boys?choir, pity they were all on holidays so performance was held today, attended the mass instead in which i fell asleep instead...=P, watever it was the black virgin I went up for, with jesus chris sitting on the lap of the black virgin, it was amazingly beautiful, then I quickly hopped on the funicular to another small monstery, actually it was all about hiking, spent like half an hour climbing the so called initial steep hill, my legs were like hanging off my body after that, however, the view up there was breathtaking, together with the breeze which helped cool down the heat a bit. Slept all the way back to barcelona, and went to the waterfront and the beach straight away, dropped by a rest and took all the seafood tapas there...lol...expansive though, anyway dun think i could get those again back home. Thought I would be writing my travel blog this time whenever i got a stay in hostel, yet either I got on overnight bus or the internet was not working, god knows access to net could be so hard these days.

rite, Toledo is a real touristic place, heard from a espanole on flight saying Segovia would be a much better choice, still we kept our pick, granada was nice still, especially during this rainy weather we could easily hop in one of the museums or cathedrals for a brief stay, the mazipan there was amazing for us the sweet tooth.

Sevilla was another highlight, lucky we got there on sunday AND there was a bullfight, it was bloodily brutal in some sense really, anyone in the bullright could be got killed, either the bull or the horse or the guy, there was a guy being hit by the bull twice and fell unconscious, he was then quickly brought backstage, no announcement was made afterwards saying if he was fine or not, god bless him. We then caught the flamingo rite after, just a drink was paid and we enjoyed a pretty professional show, video will be posted later.

Granada, a much bigger town then I presumed, Alhambra was magnificent in the sense of is culture, architecture and its overwhelming atmosphere, nothing can beat its night view! Our stay was rite in the heart of the muslim region, arabic shops and tea houses dotted around, got my beloved baklavwa there, missed them long time ago....ho yea we watched another flamingo show there, got a pretty good deal btw, this one was different from the previous one, being showed in the cave with audience sitting in U shape, different dancers came forward to perform, one of them was a GUY, pretty unusual huh? The audience was comprised of a group of law students from a carribean island, we just dropped by with a discount offer...nice =)

Then we hopped on a plane directly up to barcelona, where I am now, still experiencing Gaudi's work here, met 2 guys from HK who once joined the JSSEPC as well, wat a coincidence. Birthday dinner for my sis at a local愀 favourite, La Fonda, a nice and cheap yet ambient place, there was always a queue waiting outside man, lucky us we didn't that long then we got seats.

Gotta stop rite here, guys waiting for internet.

MADRID

Got here pretty late today around 13:30, then we had to work out how to get to the places around for the following days, gosh I was almost robbed in the metro, good i caught the gal and she ran off the metro at the next station! Not much time left for going round, yet we could still go through most of the places and got all the cool food here....the jamon (smoked ham) and calamares, the beer, patatas bravas (don愒 appreciate this much, simply fried potatos with chinese spicy sauce!

Walked through the massive park here...can愒 wait to get out of it..oh yea we were so welcomed in every bar we got into..lol...one got us a keyholder as sourvenir, the other got us a nice pic...no wonder espanoles are so well-known to be nice and friendly...the weather愀 awesome, how nice to be in this place while HK愀 raining like shit yea. I should have stayed in this place for a longer time...anyway...nice to get away from HK even for a week!

Internship placement's out

God bless I have most of my preferences namely in order, NDH's surgery, PY's OG, UCH's surgery and finally KWH's medicine. I should have had my trip rite away tonite yet I thought I would have had to swab places with others. Anyway nothing's "I should had blahblahblah..." Alrite BS's up.

Watched 'The Painted Veil', a very long flick, very conservative, would be quite a boring film for most I guess, yet the message conveyed was displayed nicely, credits go to Edward Norton, he caught my attention in "Illusionist", another recommendation, his eyes capture one right away, only with a bit of words, you can get the whole story, amazing. Btw, the soundtrack's good too.

Read about an article in SCMP this sunday talking about foreign expats sleeping on streets,would anyway had wondered such a scene here? Being alone far away from hometown, being shameful to return, wanna to make a living on their own. While we keep focusing on social help for those sleeping on streets, have we ever thought of including such people?
